This is a tale of Teddy's new beginning. Teddy is a quarter horse paint who once had a job at a feed lot working cattle. On his week-ends he would take the neighborhood kids, sometimes three at a time, and carry them wherever they wanted to go, I hear with just a halter and lead rope sometimes! Then one day he was given to a family. I don't know how long he was there but this is how he came back. He had already gained about 50 lbs when I took this picture.

Things Looking a Bit Better!
It seems that Teddy is responding to the antibiotics. His appetite has increased, his energy level is better and he's really vocal when it's feeding time. With the fluid in his chest he was unable to whinny or blow through his nose to clear it. He didn't have the lung capacity to take a deep breath to whinny. Also his breaths per minute is now 28 instead of the 44 that I was recording before antibiotics. I'm trying to catch is whinny on video because it is soooo cute! So keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep doing what I'm doing because it seems to be working! Teddy will go back to the vet in 3 weeks for a check up.
